Default 8700g Not recieving signal

Please Login to Remove!

I've had the phone for about a year, I'm on AT&T. Last night, it was sitting on the couch next to me -- when I was picking up my stuff to go, I went to change back from Vibrate to Normal profiles for my ringer, and it said there was no signal. Phone still worked fine as far as being on, checked with my provider, they said my account is fine and everything. I checked the Network Time setting on the phone and it says 9:38, so I'm presuming that was when it last connected. Now, it just says searching for network and then, No Signal. Any ideas on things I might try to get it working again?

Did you try a battery pull yet?

I believe so -- unless you mean something beyond pulling out the battery. Tried turning it off and on, both the phone and the wireless. Pulled out the battery, pulled out the SIM, put them back in. They checked at the AT&T place here with a new SIM apparently, and it didn't work then either.

With the device on, pull the battery for about 30 seconds. Replace and let the device reboot. Is this what you did?

And it is a fairly "old" device as cell phones go, so it might have been its time to cease and desist.

It's possible the radio as failed. If you've done the usual -- switch the radio off and back on again, battery pull -- and the device still shows no signal (not SOS, but no signal at all), then that is likely what has happened. You could try a wipe, but that would be a Hail Mary pass and probably pointless.
