Today is the 26th October 2012. My average download speed was between 60KB/s and 100KB/s. Over the past 2 - 3 days my average download speed has been between 2KB/s and 15KB/s. Pages now take longer to open and some BBM messages even fail to send, while others still go through without a hitch.

I have no idea what happened. Did I do something wrong. I don't recall changing a setting. Someone told me to make sure that my IP is deactivated. I checked that, and yes it is deactivated. Someone please help me.

If it helps any, I live in South Africa, Johannesburg South.

Also, I'm on Cell C. A South African Network. Another person suggested that Cell C has the right to change the settings on their side for all Cell C BB users, but my mother also has a BB on the same network and yet she hasn't had a single problem.

Also, downloads continuously fail now. It just seems to be getting worse. Downloads now get as low as bytes

It is a well-documented problem with Vodacom, whose network Cell C uses.

Man I feel ur pain, i have the same problem its driving me crazy.

I am an mtn subsciber and I have this problem for the past 4 days.

My download speed has dropped to b/s.

Ja! My download speed has also dropped to b/s. Its nice to know that I'm not alone. But it doesn't make it feel any better. This defeats the whole purpose of having a BB in the first place.

I tried to download a pdf file today that was only 10KBs big. But it just kept failing and failing and failing and failing.

Another problem I've been having is that for the past 2 months, my airtime would disappear, despite having BIS. I know that streaming takes airtime, but I very rarely stream. And when I do, I check to make my airtime afterwards to make sure how much I have left.

It only happens when I use the internet, like google or wikipedia.

Okay, I've formatted my memory card and reset my device through the options menu. Just a word of caution, this will cause you to lose everything from your pics to your bbm contacts and downloaded apps. So, backing up is required for those who wish to regain their info.

Anyway, at first my download speed went even lower, but then for an hour, my downloads were at 70kb/s. Not as good as it once was, but 7 times better than 10kb/s.

After that hour, it's back to being as slow as its been for the past few days
