Default Can Blackberry Pearl 8120 WiFi be used to access internet WITHOUT a data plan?

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

I was just wondering if the WiFi on an unlocked BB Pearl 8120 can be used to access internet applications (such as gmail or facebook, etc.) without subscribing to a data plan?
(I would be using the BB with a 'pay as you go' SIM card, mainly as a phone, but would like to be able to access the internet from time to time if need be.)

Thanks!

You can use the hotspot browser to browse the web via wifi without a data plan.
BlackBerry applications like the Gmail app and Facebook app probably will not work.
