I had customer send a text message using Nextel’s messenger service and it seemed that the number of characters was unlimited. However, they used their Department’s Novell GroupWise Wireless Office Messenger, they were limited to 100 characters when receiving on the BlackBerry 7520.

Is this a limit of the carrier(we were told it was the Novell side) or something else...Need to character limit to be 500. Suggestions?

I sent a 740 character message via Novell GroupWise Wireless Office
Messenger to a Blackberry and my handset

RESULT
The Blackberry got all 740 characters in 6 consecutive (separate)
messages.
My handset got only 101 characters of the 740 character message.

I dont have a URL....customer has the product and i am not part of the original acct team, just someone being pinged for advice....
