In Norfolk, VA our Verizon and T-Mobile units are fine. Cingular units are all still down.

Cingular here in Baltimore, MD, still down as far as I know. Should I restart the services on the blackberry server?

I am in Col Springs. Only getting SOS on my Cingular BB...it tries searching for the network every few seconds. Does this sound similar to what you are experiencing?

you could try it if you want i mean the service is already down, but you probably just need wait.

This is the perfect opportunity to do any pending updates needed to the BES servers. The only good thing to come out of this.

FYI, the issue has been resolved by RIM and their servers are sifting through the queued messages. This is why some people are receiving emails and others are not. They probably won't release the root cause of the issue, but I'm interested if anyone does find out.

Default issue

I heard a hungry poplar bear knocked down a telephone pole in Ontario
and took out the primary fiber backbone!! They had to switch over to frame!

Default Outages

We have been hit and miss here in Houston. We get bursts of e-mail then it slacks off. I am for the hungry polar bear story posted a litte ways up. That seems to make the most sense.

New York City seems to be back up and running on both Nextel and TMobile.

AP wire is carrying a brief story about the outage... affected all carriers today between about 8:15 and noon EDT. Times correspond pretty well to my personal experience.

all has cleared from our queues now, aside from those with their handhelds turned off.

S.O.B....

Cingular-Blue in Iowa here. BB-Broswer dead for a week. WAP browser works. E-mail and PIN is slow.
Called Customer Care 3-4 times and they get nowhere. So, today the guy asks when the last time I sync'd with Outlook was. Yesterday. So he says, lets blow it away clean. He say's I'll lose my bookmarks etc. <sigh> Okay, let's do it.

Wait a minute?! Where's my password keeper?! <<GGRRRR>> "Umm, yeah, that's gone too. Sorry." Then says, "Wait 4 hours" so he can ditch the call.

I still dont have full service restored. My wife's BB is just fine, except this morning when e-mail was down.

Bad timing with Microsoft starting beta deployments of Mobile 2005 and Exchange service pack 1.

Yes. Microsoft is known for solid, stable, secure products. Like Windows.
Anyone get the latest critical updates yet?
