Default BIS 2.3 Invite attendee issue

Please Login to Remove!

When I create a new appointment and invite an attendee, the email is coming from an email account that I don't want it to come from. Is there a way to change this? Thanks in advance!!

I've been wondering the same thing. Unfortunatly, I don't think you can currently. Hopefully RIM will fix this issue and be able to fix it so you can change it.

But should we be able to choose or is this just an inherent limitation?

This is a really goofy question, but are you folks able to initiate meeting requests from the BB using BIS 2.3 (and not BES)? I'm able to respond to meeting requests, but can't figure out for the life of me how to initiate them.

Am I missing something?

Many thanks for the link.

Ah! kgrecian...you're BIS only, on T-Mo Pearl and able to invite attendees? I'm so jealous! What OS are you running? Could that be the difference? (I'm still using T-Mo's 4.2.0.64) I've definitely got no option to send invitations--following the instructions from MrKyoo's link (thank you!) exactly. (I do have all of the CICAL service books, accept/decline works without a hitch, all of the other 2.3 features are working, so I'm just kind of at a loss!)

I am running the same OS as you. I am not sure why you are not able to invite attendess. You need to create a new event, then when you are in there hit the meny key and invite attendees is an option for me. Good Luck!

Well, at the very least I wasn't going crazy. Reloaded my OS, and now the invite attendees option is there. Must have corrupted something somewhere along the way. Thanks for your help!

Good post guys and gals. This caught me out last week as I sent a meeting request from my 8800 and then wondered why I was getting responses in my gmail account rather than my work account. I shall try deleting the cal service books. Shame not to be able to choose which email you are sending the meeting invite from.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Procedure
To change the default service book:

Note for Corporate users: The Desktop service book is the address associated to a corporate account using a BlackBerry Enterprise Server.

For BlackBerry Device Software 4.0:

Open Options.
Open Message Services. The default service book is highlighted.
Click the trackwheel to display the menu.
Select Change Option.
Highlight the new default service book.
Press the trackwheel to select the new default service book.
Press Escape.
Select Save.
For BlackBerry Device Software 4.1:

Open Options.
Open Advanced Options.
Open Message Services. The default service book is highlighted.
Click the trackwheel to display the menu.
Select Change Option.
Highlight the new default service book.
Press the trackwheel to select the new default service book.
Press Escape.
Select Save.

Additional Info
The BlackBerry device will not use the default service book if precedence is set with a prior message using a different service book. In this case, the service book associated with that email address will override the default service book.

Service books are always checked. That doesn't mean anything. Are you asking a question?

How do I know which book is the default? If they are all checked, is it the top one?

Which would I change to?

I assume the e-mail account that accepts appointments would be the default.

If related I changed default messaging services to that account.
