It's not easy to do, but if it's necessary, we have to do it with no choice.

had no plans to do this until i bounced my curve across the car park this am when it jumped out of my pocket [still don't know how]

when i got into the office the trackball was half out

took the chance to prise the rest out and left it for a few hours till lunchtime

then came in here and got the cleaning done

its a bit fiddly when you have no dexterity like me but it worked well and now i have a cleaned trackball as well as it being back in place.

thanks for the guidance

Well it took several searches to find this thread, but I did.

And, I cleaned out my trackball and now it is working again.

And I didn't even wait for my geek, err, my boyfriend to get home, did it all by myself!

(Yeah, I'm bragging, so what??)

Thanks for this tutorial!!!!!

I'm curious to know this too.

Any advantage to cleaning the trackball before we notice any real problem?

So my Boss seen me cleaning her 8330 and decided to try it herself this time around. Somehow she managed to make it so that the trackball now makes the directions on her screen messed up. When she scrolls down or up it goes left and right and when she scrolls left and right it moves up and down. Anyone else have this issues? Is there a fix for this?

I have taken back apart multiple times and rearanges the sensor wheels as well as taken my ball out of my curve and put it in her (which worked fine). I am at a loss as to what could be causing this. Any suggestion?

She put the sensor wheels in facing the wrong direction. I had to swap them 180 in their current slot to fix it.
