Default 8310 on Vodafone UK: PAP auth error

Please Login to Remove!

I'm trying to tether my 8310 using bluetooth to Ubuntu. I've got my ppp scripts set up, and here's the output that I get:
Code:
Press CTRL-C to close the connection at any stage!

Sending break to the modem

PDP context detached
Serial link disconnected.
Can anyone shed any light on what's going on? It looks like vodafone are rejecting my PAP login request. I've tried to call them, but they're closed at the moment, but I don't think that dialup is disabled on my handset.

My ppp config:

Code:

I'm not aware of any username / password that I need, and googling suggests that the vodafone uk credentials are just web / web. I'll double check with vodafone.

Interestingly, if I force no PAP, then it just mumbles lots about 0.0.0.0 ip addresses, so I think auth is required to get on the network.

you need double check with the service provider.
normally, like: "WAP" "WAP", "WEB" "WEB", """",and etc. BTW. We cannot remove the PAP authenticate in PPP negotiate.
