Default Moving from one Tour to another - how?

Please Login to Remove!

I upgraded from a 9630 to a 9650 last year, and now to a 9850. My wife has no interest in upgrading, and now her 9630 roller ball is acting up. She's tried cleaning under it, did the straw thing, etc. It's toast. But she insists she doesn't want to upgrade to a newer phone - she wants to use my old 9630 (which is fine w/ me), because she "knows how everything works".

So - her phone works fine except for the ball. Will this be as simple as using BBSAK to wipe my old phone, and then copying all the files from her phone onto mine, and then activating it with Verizon, or am I missing something?

Thank you - and good recommendation on the Kindle too. I just finished Snow Crash yesterday.

Default And now Browser is gone....

OK, I did the whole device switch thing from the old 9630 to the new 9630, and Browser disappears. I literally cannot find it anywhere.

So I wipe the new phone and do a fresh install of the OS. Browser is there on the new phone. I do device switch again, and Browser is gone on the new phone although the old phone still has Browser on it.

Any ideas? I already checked inside folders, did "show all", etc.

Sounds like the BIS account in question is pointing at the wrong phone. Try logging into your Verizon BIS page and re-entering your new PIN/IMEI for this device. You can resend service books from there too, which could be another cause of the problem.

OK, maybe a very noobish question here...could this be because I haven't activated the "new" phone yet? She surfs a lot (on OS5, I know!), and I didn't want to have to listen to it if she wasn't able to.... Would something as simple as that cause this problem?

It *should* activate when you do the device switch, but calling Verizon and having it done that way is much more certain. I'd definitely give that a try first.
