Welcome to the Sprint Mobile Software Store! You will find great software for your Sprint Browser/Bot Smart Device here. To purchase directly from your desktop computer, please visit http://softwarestore.sprint.com. [email address]© 2007 Sprint Nextel. All rights reserved.© 2000-2007 Handmark, Inc.
Weird. Now, when I click the Sprint Software Store icon that came preloaded on my Home screen, I get On Demand and Sprint Navigation listed above the categories you have listed in your post.

Maybe it's a timing thing. At any rate, the OTA link I provided will take you right there, regardless!

And, I for one do not think you're nutz.

Yeah, the Sprint Nav is the same charge as TeleNav. It wouldn't make much sense if Sprint Nav is more since it's powered by TeleNav.

As for Gooddog, I just opened up Sprint Software Store a couple of days ago and the On Demand and Sprint Navigation applications are suddenly there above Categories. So I'm not sure why you're not seeing it when you access your Sprint Software Store. You might just have to wait it out.

OR try re-registering your host routing table:

Options>Advance Options>Host Routing Table then hit the Menu key (button left of the track ball) and select Register Now.

Is it a different version than the one for the 8703? I had just dl'ed that version and it was working fine on my 8830...I have version 4.4.0.20.

Any new features or screen interfaces?

I confirmed 2.99 per day or 9.99 per month.
i also was told that the Sprint navigator for the 8830 along with the Telenav version that will support the 8830 will be officially released on 8/1 and the version that I downloaded from the link in this thread might be a beta or an RC.

I still am not seeing it in the software store and I did register again. I also tried it on a brand new 8830 activated today and Sprint Nav did not appear in the software store. Strange stuff indeed which might mean it has not been released.

Hmm that is strange. I've been using my Sprint Nav for a few days now and it's working fine. My only complaint is that the satellite sometimes takes a really long time to search. Sometimes the loading time is at 100% and it's still searching. I'm on like a 14 day trial. I'll decide later on if i really want to purchase it when my trial expires.

Oh another thing....

I've been using my bluetooth headset whenever I drive for about a month now and it's been great.

Here's my question....is there a way to get Sprint Nav turn by turn audio on my headset instead of the phone speakers?

Telenav claims that RIM locks down the bluetooth so much that they can't access it to play the voice prompts.

I downloaded this yesterday and it flat out doesn't work. The program just hangs at the "reading GPS screen" at 100% status. Happens every time.

Are you outside where you can pick up a GPS signal? Have you set the GPS to internal under preferences in TeleNav?

Make sure Yahoo Go is not still pulling data from the GPS. I'm not sure you can have to GPS apps pulling GPS data at the same time.

I just downloaded TeleNav 5.1 last night on my Sprint 8830 from the Wireless Web link in the browser. Can't seem to really find a difference between this and Sprint Navigation, except that Sprint Navigation seems to verify the account at every launch while TeleNav 5.1 does not.

Default Sprint Navigation w/8830

I downloaded the 14 day Free Trial from the Sprint Software Store on the screen and it recognized my existing account so I didn't have to do anything beyond the 14 days except keep on using it. I only hope they add the 8830 to Telenav Track soon. Right now it's not compatible. You can only use the Navigator.
