So you guys are saying that you cannot reassign the left convenience button to anything? Is it set for voice dialing?

You can definitely set it to almost anything you want. It seems like they got rid of the standby function that could be used by holding down the mute button or assigning it to one of the convenience keys. I have reassigned both of my convenience keys to other things, without issue.

One other issue I just noticed is that when a meeting request comes in, it treats it as a normal msg (i.e. can't accept/decline it). Additionally, if I create a new calendar item, I can't invite attendees from the BB.

Looks like I'm going back to .419

It sure seems as though this release is a buggy little devil compared to .419. Think I'm staying put until Verizon does an official release.

419 is much better IMO. I downgraded back to it after playing around with 484. I dont like the lack of lock screen, and the lack of standby. Hopefully this wont be standard in all of the newer builds.

Although the upgrade process went extremely well, completely backed up all my emails, contacts, etc and restored them with absolutely no issues.

I think the lock button on top may be a dual function with this version, keypad lock/standby mode, anyone think this is true?

Thank you for the instructions! Installed last night perfectly with no incidents.

Does anyone know of a change log or release notes for this version? Like what is updated or different from v4.7?

I am having the very same problem. Once I run Loader.exe it simply shows me the apps my phone has and then when I click next it says no action requried. I am not running DM, and I have uninstalled all other OS versions, 5.0 is all that my computer has installed. I've done this before, I don't understand what is different this time. I want 5.0

For the users having issues with updating the OS:

What operating system is your computer running? I've found that there are issues when trying to update from Windows 7 x64 because of directory structure differences from a 32 bit version of Windows.

I've tried this on 5 different machines running Windows 7 x64 and have encountered the same issues. 32-bit versions appear to work fine. The cause has to do with the change in file path from "Program Files" to "Program Files (x86)" ... i don't think its installing everything to the appropriate "Common Files" folder which can cause obvious issues.

No problems here with Win 7 x64. When I'm doing an update I make sure to run Desktop Manager "as administrator" though.

For some reason I cannot get my users phone to take this upgrade. (Verizon 9630).

I downloaded / installed this upgrade onto my pc.
Plugged BB into computer with USB.
BB current OS is 4.1.0.81
I run c:\Program Files\Common Files\Research in Motion\AppLoader\Loader.exe
It detects phone.
Says nothing to upgrade.

What am I doing wrong please?

Make sure you delete the vendor.xml file from C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader

Lovin .484 and the lock button on top works no problems for me. COuldnt get tiny lock or autolock to work so i guess ill have to get used to manually locking the keypad with the button on top.
