Default Apps not downloading on Blackberry BES only

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

I am trying to test my app downloads from my site using Device Anywhere.

All apps download on the BlackBerry models, except for those with BES. Someone please help me figure out whats different about BES. Do we have to account for anything special when it comes to download OTA. The error I am getting is:

Server Erroor in '/' Application: The path is not of a legal form.

The stack trace is:

[ArgumentException: The path is not of a legal form.]
Jad.Page_Load[Object sender, EventArgs e) +962
System.Web.Util.CalliHelper.EventArgFunctionCaller (IntPtr fp, Object o, Object t, EventArgs e) +14
System.Web.Util.CalliEventHandlerDelegateProxy.Cal lback(Object sender, EventArgs e) +35
System.Web.UI.Control.OnLoad(EventArgs e) +99
System.Web.UI.MobileControls.MobilePage.OnLoad(Eve ntArgs e) + 145.....

My website is written in C#.net. Not sure if this helps but please let me know if you want more info. I can maybe try copy pasting some of the code in the Jad.Page_Load function.

Regardless, does anyone know why it would work on all models except those with BES. Is there anything extra I should be doing, or something I should be careful about.

Please let me know. Really appreciate any help I can get.

The BES administrator has probably set an IT Policy that prevents third party application installs, or is preventing the Blackberry from connecting to your download site.

Hey, thanks for the response.

If that is the case, wouldn't it be some other kind of message that displays?

The thing I'm concerned about is the error message that says the path is not of a legal form. This tells me that its not a restriction placed on the blackberry, but something wrong with my application thats reading/receiving something differently from the device. Not sure.

I don't know, I don't do C# or .NET and don't recognize the error message so assume it is a C# or .NET error message.

Are the non BES units using BIS or direct TCP? On the blackberry when you request an HTTP(S) connection through the BES or BIS the HTTP protocol starts at the MDS server, unless you specify deviceSide=true
