I don't have specific knowledge, but my educated guess would be that that's the chip they're using, based on:
* the 8703e is the only 87xx CDMA device, AND the only GPS-enabled 87xx device
* the datasheet advertises that it uses the "800/1900 MHz cdmaOne™, CDMA2000® 1X and Ev-DO networks" and it uses a Qualcomm CDMA chipset
So, it seems the most likely path for them would have been to include the GPS solution from the same company they're using for the radio. But again, that's only a guess on my part.
