Well the way I am getting around it is that when not using the telenave I can use teh BT headset but if I ma using the GPS then I use teh wired head set. I do agree that stincks and I can't wait untill they release one that has a built in one (hopefully).

Ok I went to the Cingular store today and purchased the $ 99.00 BT-359 BT puck
Works great.

Setup
Charge the new GPS for 8 hours ( ok so I could not wait , I plugged it into the AC adapter )
Turn on the GPS .
You will see the various lights blink depending on where your doing the setup
Open and pair the device on the BT pairing screen
You may see xxx8220; unknown device for a few seconds.
Change to xxx8220;YESxxx8221; on the options screen for a Trusted device
Save setup
Activate the BB Maps and open the options setup
Select the BT359 device
Select start GPS
Thatxxx8217;s it ! you will notice the screen has a red arrow and will follow your movements

All I can say is it works good for a $99 setup. I have other GPS devices and this is the least cost. You wonxxx8217;t get voice turns but it will keep you on track. The monthly rental versions offer more but unless you need constant voice prompts this is the best.
Maybe versions in the future will have voice prompts.

I also Liked the BB maps, One thing I noticed is the info regarding the next intersection and it only shows when you are at it. I wish they had do that a a bit before so one can get ready for manuvering. If they do implement Voice it for sure would be great and would drop telenave in a heart beat. One thing I do like is the telenave search feature and it works best (capmred to BB Maps and way finder, just like stinsondog's review said).

I did notice that the intersection was shown and if I slowed down a bit
( go the speed limit ) it was a few yards before the street. All in all it's not bad for a free service

OK here is the latest. reading this Post by Jibi, where it says at teh bottom:
SDR84087
If you are connected to a Bluetooth® enabled headset and a Bluetooth GPS puck, after some time, the connection between your BlackBerry device and the Bluetooth enabled devices might be lost.
Impact: Your device might not maintain a connection to two Bluetooth enabled devices at one time.
Workaround: None.

So knowing that the BT headset adn teh BT puck did not work together (well I have not tried it since I upgraded the OS) I wanted to test it tonight, and it was a success. The BT headset was working while the GPS was connecting and it resumed after the call was done. So, i say yay, even if it does disconect like it said as a known issue, I am happy untill they hopefully do teh fix in the next release.

I dont think the service is an issue CDMA, EDGE ets. If you have BT and can load BBmaps, the GPS should work. See if you can borrow someones puck to test. You will see a option for the GPS device on the maps software. IF you have internet access the aps will update.

I do see the option for an external GPS option with the TeleNav software I'm using. Thanks again I will buy one and give a try.
