Default ETP.dat message

Please Login to Remove!

Bit of a confusing one. A user on BIS is getting an ETP.Dat message in his outlook mail. So normally the following steps clear the problem.

Uninstall Desktop Manager
Remove service books
Reinstall desktop manager using Blackberry Internet Settings.

However, the mail still comes through to the outlook. Deleted the email address off the blackberry and reset up. Haven't deleted his hotmail accounts etc.

Im stuck!! No email address configured to the BB, no desktop manager yet his outlook was still receiving these messages.

Anyone got any clues as to what it could be that is still effecting this user?

Thanks

The e-mail message might be coming from the BIS infrastructure. The user should login to the BIS Admin web page of the carrier and delete his e-mail address there.

Ahh I googled and found the same resolutions too and did them. As I said I deleted the service books, deinstalled the DM, Reinstalled DM, Deleted the email accounts from the Blackberry internet service and still they come through.

At pressent the guy has no email accounts linked to his BB, no desktop manager. Service books from host routing table. And even with nothing linked anymore he still gets them.

I'm just at a loss as to what to do next and didn't know if anyone else had the same issue where the known fixes hadn't worked.

Thanks for your help though.

Someone (maybe the user himself) may be trying to do an enterprise activation on their handheld using this user's email address.

Could be coming from anywhere.

No I checked to make sure no enterprise activation was triing to complete. USer wiped his phone also.

I made the handset BIS only after the wipe as well so he has not got the Enterprise activation option any more.

He hasn't got any of the desktop services books.

It could be ANY device with an Enterprise plan. Anywhere on the planet.
If I put this user's email address in one of my devices and try to do an EA... that user will end up with an activation message in their inbox.

Ohh! I hadn't thought about that and with a company of 730 BB's it could well be possible. Will check.

Thanks
