Default 1 BES Server, Multiple Domains?

Please Login to Remove!

Is it possible to associate multiple domains to a single BES?
If so, is there any additional licencing needed?

On Domino yes, not sure about M$ Exchange.

If they are all in the same DNN all that needs to be done is that the BES server needs to be listed in the OtherDomainSever group in each of the Domains NAB's.

After that has been done you can add users as normal.

Yes it is possible. What type of Mail system are you using? A company I worked for has many sub-companies and their own domains in which are running on just a few BES servers world wide. So yes, it is possible. Like Simon said, you just need to make sure they are on the same network.

We have at least 8 domains running on ours, and they all hit the same exchange servers.

We have 2 different domains being hosted on 2 different Exchange servers, but they are in the same network.
I've looked (unsuccessfully) for technical details on how to do this. Can anyone direct me to where I can get more info?
Thanks for all the help.

ok so this is driving me crazy..

We have our second domain.... we have the trust..

we have the new exchange server in our ORG.. that is already setup for BES..

we have allow Besadmin all the right access to the new server etc..

I can add the new user [email address] and get it ready for activation..

Running the IEMSTEST.exe

somtestuser's Mailbox opened successfully.
Root Folder opened successfully.
Folder created successfully.
Test folder deleted successfully.
Test completed successfully for somtestuser.

but when I go to activate on the handset, it just hangs, and eventually times out.

Can't find any errors in the event log or BES logs...

Any ideas ?

If Enterprise Activation is hanging verify that the ETP email is not being modified (no text in the body, the attachment is not stripped and the subject line is not modified with BULK/SPAM/etc.). Also, make sure the email is in the Inbox and is not being moved to another folder. If you don't see the email in the users mailbox try testing PIN-to-PIN to make sure the BB has a data plan. If that works try using a different email address, like a hotmail or GMail, if the the email arrives there but not in the users inbox then the Exchange server is not allowing it through.

You mentioned looking in the BES logs, which log did you look in? You only need to look in the appropriate MAGT log for his agent on the BES. You can view the article here to follow the Enterprise Activation process in the logs:

BlackBerry Search Results

That will give you some things to search for in the logs, they can be hard to read.
