Is there a difference when you do a battery pull with the Storm powered on as opposed to off?

Doesn't matter. In my opinion, the device doesn't know the difference, _and_ the device is never really off, its just in a sleep state.

So it doesn't matter when you pull the battery. IMHO

I heard that turning it off just places it on sleep or standby mode. And battery pull frees up memory, closes applications that are running, refreshes the OS. So battery pull seems like it is best. But this phone is more of a headache than a Godsend! I wonder if the iPhone has this many problems and if you have to pull the battery to refresh it.

Yes, project86 that's correct. It does matter as the battery pull refreshes the OS and reallocate the memory resources. There's a software on the market MemoryUp that claims to do just that...but it didn't work for me.

The iPhone doesn't have a removable battery. So even if you had to, you couldn't. Also, if you have a defective battery, you're pretty much SOL as well.

Project86, ever seen the battery in an iPhone? You can't remove it. Or replace it when it wears out.

If you are unhappy with the Storm, perhaps you can get it replaced with a different model.

I love going into the Apple store and asking for a spare iPhone battery and watch the geniuses stammer.

There is another software called "QuickPull" that will simulate the physical pulling of the battery without the whole "pull the battery cover" thing. Its located in the AppWorld and its free.

I have used QuickPull for some time now with no issues, it works great for what it's intended to do. And the price of $fr.ee is nice, too.

No, but it did in its early months. So we're in the same boat as they were two years ago in their initial release period.

But the beta OS upgrades make a world of difference. Couple that with a camera flash, MMS, copy & paste, and I'll stick with my Storm hands down.
