Default Problem With Orange

Please Login to Remove!

Hello,

i have a problem with my blackberry on the orange Uk network.

basically, when people try and call me it takes severla attempts for them to get through to me. The first few attempts result in them getting the unobtainable tone, or a recorded meassge saying that the number is not recognised. It doesnt diver to my voice mail as it should when i'm not on the network.

it happens to people on various different mobile networks.

it also happened on my last blackberry, and i assumed that getting a new sim card / phone would cure the problem but it hasnt, so i am now thinking that when i used the device transfer wizard, so setting has been transfered that's causing this.

orange techincal support have been useless, so can anyone here suggest a setting i may have altered that may cause an issue like this? I remember that i had trouble connecting to the netwrok whilst abroad some months ago and changed some settings, but cant remember or find anyhting that i wthink will help solve my problem.

Any help greatly recieved! People are beginning to not phone me as they cant be bothered with the hassle!!!

Thanks
Stuart

Go to Options>Mobile Network.

At Connection Preferences, set it to "Mobile Network Preferred".

At Mobile Network, set it to "Orange".

At Network Selection Mode, set it to "Automatic".

Let us know if this helps!

Try pulling the battery for 20-30 seconds as well.

Do you also have trouble calling out? I know I had. 5 years ago I was living in the UK, and I was an Orange UK pay monthly subscriber for about 2 years. I always had problems such as yours (+ difficulties calling other people - it took me 4-5 attempts to succeed each time) until I found out, towards the end of my contract, that the SIM serial number written on the receipt I have got from the Orange shop (yes, I had it after two years - it was with the other documents - contract, phone warranty and stuff) had two figures switched, i.e. 123XY456789... was written as 123YX456789. Apparently the wrong serial number was written in some database at Orange and that's why I had all those problems - it was a mismatch between the database and the actual serial no. Of course, during my 2 years contract I had endless discussion with Orange CSRs, and they were telling me all kinds of stupid stories, starting with "we are aware of the problem, there are some works in progress at the tower near you", and so on, while in fact they had absolutely no idea. I am not saying this is exactly the source of your problems, but it could be something similar.
