I installed it last week into my test environment. With that said, with the delays we're expecting for OS 4.5, I am going to formulate a test plan for BES 4.1.5, but I do not plan on deploying it into production. I am planning on adopting BES 4.1.6 fairly early, provided there aren't as many it-became-a-joke delays as it has been with SP5. Keep in mind that this was originally posted on the Life Cycle page (which we should take as official word from RIM) for a mid-November release.

besx_upgrader_4_1_5.exe downloading now from the partnerzone, got bored of waiting for the public release. What's the difference with the database scripts then?

It really is amazing how bad we want this. If they had stuck with the original release date, it would have been no big deal. But now... its like OMGHURRYUPANDPOSTTHEDOWNLOADLINKFAST!!!

This looks as bad as Symantec Endpoint Protection, barracuda firmware updates, our private CRM system, M$ and more than I care to type right now.

Maybe the Terminator movie was wrong, the world's computer systems are going to die because no one can make a patch or update that will actually fix anything in the future. We will waste our life with updates to update patches that patch the fix that were for something that we cant remember why we even did it.

So where were we? hmm, another update alert just popped up on my screen.

I know we are all eagerly anticipating this, but we have to have OS 4.5 to even enjoy the new goodies (for the most part).

RIMs software updates are such a joke. Yet every time the release finally comes out, we all forget about this fiasco. It's not like we really have a choice or anything, but when products are getting released six months to a year after they are supposed to, something is wrong. RIM doesn't owe us these updates per se, but stop treating us like children or idiots and actually post the correct date in the first place. I guess they would rather string us along and tell us "next month" than actually admit that the software update won't actually be available till next year sometime.

Do you have a T-Support contract? Read any license agreement you have ... more importantly, use common sense.
