I'm a BB fan and have supplied my family members all with BB10 devices. The devices for my underaged kids are registered under my BlackBerry ID until they are old enough.

Right now I can run register BBM with the BlackBerry ID only on one device making it impossible to use BBM within the family. It does not make any sense to lock / link BBM to the BlackBerry ID.

BBM for iOS and Android allows the account creation based on a mail address/account. That does make sense.

Can we please have BBM on OS10 run its own account (unlinked from the BlackBerry ID the device is registered with). That would be consistent!

I actually extend the request: please allow multiple BBM accounts per device - one being the active one.

Haha, I wish I saw this earlier. Your first problem is trying to register your whole family on one BBID. Yes, it does make sense. BBM is tied to a PIN or a BBID and that is tied into a device. One device, not four.

Your BBID IS your email account, the one you used to register. It wouldn't be consistent, it would be a nightmare.

Here is a solution. If you feel your children are too young to use a cellphone, then they shouldn't be using a cellphone. Parental Controls also work.

The solution is not difficult. Sign up for free Gmail accounts for the underage kids, use those Gmail accounts for their BB IDs, and keep the email passwords to yourself. Boom.

Mwille64: Your issue with trying to assign a BBM account to each of your devices listed under one BBID should be a problem encountered by many because often a multiple subscriber does so originally with one email account. Then it becomes necessary to create additional email accounts because certain apps require a unique ID that is tied to an email account. Lots of advice is given how to change passwords but changing BBID's
is not that easy. I'm looking for the same solution.

So far your request appears to have been met with derision with no constructive advice.
It seems posting problems here are a waste of time. Other members/users having the same difficulty are accused of hi-jacking threads.

Simple, ya. The users are not old enough. Go get them an iphone. Where are the moderators? Additonal Gmail accounts? Try that without changing your BBID.
