Default Pearl mass storage warning message

Please Login to Remove!

Hello,
I just got myself a 1GB sd card. Now when I play in my USB, I get a warning message about activating mass storage.

"Do you want to turn on Mass Storage? You might not be able to access some media files in this mode."

I have not yet turned it on yet and wanted to know what the message means about not being able to access some media files.

Also, does this expand the regular memory of the device itself? Like, does the application storage, email, and other applications that read/write recordstore data get to use it, or is this specifically just media/file storage?

Thanks,
Eric

Don't worry about the message, just say yes. You can get rid of it by choosing to not Prompt Warning in the media card settings. The card only hold media for viewing/playing. You can store other stuff, but you can only access media. You cannot run apps fro the card.

More specifically that messaagae is asking you if you want to access your card on your desktop when connected to your desktop. If you say "Yes" then you can drag and drop items to Micro-SD card and will be accessible to you when you disconnect your BB from Desktop. Easy way to drag and drop your music, video and pictures to the card.

When you say "Yes" to this prompt you'll loose access on BB to the card. Eihter your desktop or your BB can access the card at any given time.

There is no expansion of memory and as TheBigNewt said you cannot run apps from SD card.

Alright, thanks guys.

We're activated now and rocking. All I need now is a stereo headset!

Cheers,
Eric
