Does anyone know how this works? ...the icon Documents To Go for the Curve 8310 has Word and PowerPoint. Does anyone know how this works and what it does or where we can find more info on this? I'm not quiet sure how to use this lol

I use mine to view powerpoint presentations in class. It works pretty well for me. Just save the file to your device and open it with the program.

oh cool!! Does anyone know if it is possible to type a word document on the BB and transfer this back onto Word on a computer? I was trying to play around with it on my device but said that I needed an internet connection which I haven't got around to doing yet...

You need to pay for the Premium version of DTG to create a word doc on your bb. The free version that comes with 4.5 is just to view and edit.

Create a blank word document on the PC, send it to your BB and keep that as your "template". From the BB you can open your blank "template" with wordtogo, edit it, and save as some other document name.

Yep, Thats what I did.. On my Media Card I created a file for each program New.doc/xls/ppt (and a caopy for '07 documents) this way I always have a blank document to start with. Then just use the Save As feature.

What do I need to do to have the sheet to go on my BB? I have 4.5 OS installed on my BB but under the DTG folder on my BB, it shows only Word and PowerPoint icons.

Thanks,

Thanks,
Open one of the two programs that are there. Hit the BB key and check for updates. Register and it should add sheets to go and update the other 2 programs. No credit card or cost needed to register.

Thanks guys!!!! I have finally worked it out and it works a gem!!!! I really love this feature, it makes it much simple and convenient to begin typing a document and sending to your PC!!! I'm a uni student its literally a 'document to go' lol

Make sure all connection permissions are set to 'allow' for Docs To Go.

If you upgrade to the premium version you get the ability to create new documents in different versions, etc. You also get PDF To Go. I have it and the complete suite is quite nice.

Do we need to have 4.5 in order to use docstogo feature ? I bought new BB 8330 from sprint it has folder docstogo but this looks to me is of no use.

Yes, you need 4.5. See the sticky at the top of the curve forum for the latest 4.5 os for 8330. Doesn't matter what carrier.

Okay, I have read John Clark's admonition about how to deal with Sheet-to-go on an OS upgrade.

BUT, what about just adding other software applications. Each time I try running Desktop Manager to add or update application software Desktop Manager wants to DELETE Sheet-to-go.

What do I need to tweak to avoid DM erasing it while still allowing me to add new software?

(I did search - that's how I found this thread but nothing jumps out)

Same thing. Just rename the DocumentsToGo.alx to DocumentsToGo.old. Make sure you are not hiding file extensions, otherwise you will end up with DocumentsToGo.alx.old
