Probably not for at least a few more months, if at all.

well if BB doesn't actually provide the software to make it possible i hope some brainiac will write some code to make this happen...

either that or i hope my company will upgrade my 7280 to a 7290...

the demand is out there...if i were BB i would make it available even charge for it...i would pay for it...

This is an interesting topic. I love my Blackberry because most times I do not have get online on my PC. It would be convienient in a pinch to be able to use the device over GPRS to hit VPN though.

I thought you could use the 7230 device as a remote modem, as long as you have the 4.0 OS and the 4.0 Desktop Manager loaded.

Nope. As of now - even with 4.0 - you can only use the 7100t (sometimes) and the 7290 as modems. Carrier dependant.

It is rumored that the 7250 has modem capability. Since it is rumored to have EV-DO, this would make it the best BlackBerry for BlackBerry-as-modem usage. ;)

At least until an EDGE BlackBerry, anyway...
