Default phone wont switch on - help!!! - diff to other posts

Hi

I have read lots of posts on this subject but can't find one that explains my problem.

Last night my BB 8320 was charging and i had it in standby mode and i checked it to see if i had any calls and the screen wouldn't come on, like it had turned off.
I pulled the battery and it did nothing. still wouldnt switch on. charged it for a few more hours and it still wouldnt even when i tried pulling the battery again.
The red light doesnt even come on, no white screen - - it just does nothing. Blank and dead like theres nothing there anymore.
I thought it might be the battery so i tried it in my old pearl and the battery is fine, it was fully charged and working - put it back in the curve and it still wouldnt switch on.
I have had no water damage or other such damage.
Although i have noticed numerous faults with all the blackberrys i have had. This curve has random times when even when fully charged it loses all power in an hour (even when not being used) at the same time emails stop pushing so i dont get them on the bb, internet stops working and the phone acts buggy. Then randomly one day all emails will push though again and the battery goes back to lasting hours and hours and not needing to be charged every hour.
Its like there is some battery management in the os and it tells the battery it is drained when it isn't. I dont know what it is.
A few times whilst its been on standby mode i have gone to look at the screen and its kind of frozen/locked looks like its switched itself off and by either waiting a couple of mins it comes back or pulling the battery fixes it.

but this time it isnt coming back!!! i dont know what to do!! help please!!! i desperately need this to switch back on

Wonder if the SIM card may be damaged. Can your SIM in a different phone?

A damaged SIM shouldn't affect whether or not it powers up. I've powered up BlackBerry's many times with NO SIM card in them, they boot up just fine, and report that there's no SIM installed.
