Default Bold 9700 Themes

Just curious if any themes from any other models will work on the 9700?

The themes I have from my 9000 will not work, they install but dont show up in the "Themes" menu?

I wouldn't expect them too.
Themes are made for each device (mostly).
And Os 5 is new and plazmic hasnt released the theme maker for OS 5 yet.
I dont expect any themes any time soon.

Yah I understand that but I know for a fact I had seen that others were using 8900 themes or something of that sort successfully?

Although OS 5.0 you probably have a point.

I can confirm that any of the 8900 themes will work flawlessly on the Bold 9700 for anyone interested!

I would have thought so, as it is the same screen size.

Then we can still use the current Plazmic version, and create thems as is for the 8900.

Not so fast...I installed a couple themes from my 8900. They worked but appeared to be the culprit in multiple system crashes. Having returned to the original 9700 theme I can confirm a full day of no crashes.

I have been switching between multiple themes without issue and heavy use.

I will write back if I see any issues, as of now they all seem to work without a hitch!

Same issue with me. After changing it back, I experienced no issues.

My favourite theme of all time (especially for Weather/Quicklaunch) has now been ported to the 9700 from the 9000 and is FREE.

I encourage everyone to check it out!

Oh yeah, that's an easy one. Just click on the menu button to view ALL your icons. Then, one by one, you can highlight an icon you want to take down from your home screen, click the menu button again, and select MOVE. This will then allow you to move icons down to wherever you want them. Typically, the icons at the top of the list are the ones that show up on the home screen...

Hope this helps....

Here's a half-decent tutorial for how to do this:

Default 8900 themes work

The 9700 is really just a 8900 curve with 3G and a better keyboard. They use the same screen. I used the program to transfer everything from my 8900 to my 9700 and all my themes work.
