I got the same problem when I upgraded to .190. I needed to re-register my phone : Options -> Advanced Options -> Host Routing Table. For each entry (I think) bring up the menu (using Berry button) and select Register Now.
Although some software upgrades state at the top (when listing the changes to be made to your phone before proceeding with the upgrade) that wireless activation is required after the upgrade, .190 did not, not for me anyway. Maybe it's the same for .217?

It say's: For this program is a working data connection requires. Check your signal strength and connections institutions and start the application again.
Someone with same problem?

IMHO, I would definitely skip .216 and either go for .217 or wait on .219. I have been running .217 for a while now and it has been working extremely well for me.

Ok, I've upgraded from .190 to this... So far so good. I believe my battery is slightly better. And the memory doesn't really leak.
I've never actually run into any major problems since I've owned my Bold (that's when it first came out for Rogers). I don't know if it matters, but I've only used official OS and never loaded a beta.

I used .216 official release and it worked great for almost a whole day then it started dropping calls when going from 3G to EDGE while driving around. It wouldn't hold a 3G connection right in the middle of full 3G coverage according to AT&T coverage map. Went back to .210 even if it is beta.

What does the change in the TCP/IP menu bring versus the previous menu, knowing that it is the same information that we enter in both cases?
thanks

Upgraded to .216 from .185 today. Am on BES. All went well. The process took only about 20 minutes. Calendar, contacts, browser, music, pictures and third party apps all seem to work as before. WSJ reader required confirming email; Antair Spam Filter 3.0, opened but with 30 day registration nag screen and required re-entering registration code.

After 5 days with .216 (vs. .190) I am finding the following:
* Phone range significantly degraded; continual hopping among GSM, EDGE and 3G
* GPS shows it is working, but no amount of refreshes can generate a location
* My wi-fi, which worked fine in the 2 locations I'd set up for it, is not working. I can't manually activate either location. With .190, the device would automatically link to the networks.
From the discussion, I'm concluding my issues with .216 are much more substantial than most people. Any recommendations?

I know this is probably the first thing to try, but have you popped the battery out and then back in? In particular, the WiFi was much more stable for me.
