OK. So to summarize, you have your phone on, with many features disabled, and you are basically not using it, and it drops 10% in 24 hours. That's great.

Myself, and many others here use our phones a lot more than that. In fact, what I would think of as "light use" would still be significantly more intensive than the use you have described.

I don't think anyone here disagrees that you can get very extended runtimes when you don't put any real load on the battery.

So those that doubt the runtimes you are claiming are probably thinking of what "they" would consider light to moderate use, which is probably still alot higher than what you are describing.

The question I have now is: if this is how you use your mobile device, why are you using a BlackBerry? There are lots of cheaper, smaller devices available, with even longer runtimes, that might suit your needs fine.

By the way, what happens when you put the BB in standby mode? What does the hardware do/turn off to optimize battery usage?

Standby can't turn the hardware off as you can get a call while in standby

Hopefully somebody will be quick to make an aftermarket bigger battery for the Bold like they did for the Pearl. I think they'll sell like hotcakes, don't you? It'll have to have a little thicker battery back but that way they can get rid of the faux leather look at the same time, maybe with a speaker grill to help the sound.
