You haven't read the whole thread? Greg already showed me "misreading".

Indeed they are. Rogers at $ 399 (Rumored) on 3 years of servitude and $ 899 (Rumored) retail price. Definitely a dent, but it isn't stopping me! I know, I have a problem.

Question, even if you get your hands on one of them someone has stated that RIM will block the PIN when you try to activate the device since it is not officially released yet. Is this true?

RIM is indeed blocking the PINs of some pre-release Bolds, but those are only units that were never supposed to be sold. They were test/demo units and came with stickers warning, "Property of Research In Motion. Not For Sale." I believe there was a similar warning under the battery. Some poor schleps paid several thousand dollars for some of these Bolds and now are finding them disabled. Permanently. The original eBay auction in this thread looks like a case of simply pre-selling Bolds with the intention of buying them at the official release and shipping them at that time. Those will not suffer the "deactivated PIN" fate. This last one you quoted is for a Bold that's already been deactivated by RIM. They're not turning it back on either. Ever.

So, did anyone who ordered a Bold from the original auction actually get one yet?

I do as well. But I would be buying off contract to unlock anyway, and with pricing the way it is, it's a pretty good deal buying one from there ($ 809 Shipped as opposed to $ 899 from Rogers). And T-Mobile Germany Bold's come Unlocked out of the box.
