Only improvement i can think of at the moment is making the hour glass transparent/.png. The white square looks odd.

Yeah I actually tried it as a transparent gif and it looked real bad on certain backgrounds. I totally forgot that PNG files support animation. I will break out ImageReady and see what I can come up with. Thanks for the suggestion.

Well it seems PNG files don't natively support animation. I found the MNG and APNG variants support animations but to the best of my knowledge Plazmic doesn't support these and I don't have any options in Photoshop or ImageReady for them. The transparent GIFs I've created look really bad on some backgrounds. Looking at two of my favorite themes around the bPhone and Verizon Zen theme I notice that their hourglass animations also have background color (i.e. not transparent) so it isn't all too uncommon. I'm going to toy with other hourglass icons and see what I can come up with because I too think it needs improving. But I don't think I'll be able to pull off a transparent version of the existing hourglass animation...

This is really nice...probably the nicest looking theme for the 8300 series devices. Since it seems like improvements are still being made I would like to add one. There is no UMA signal strength meter and that might be nice to have on here. But, this is definitely a good looking theme!

Thanks for the comments! The bad news is that the Plazmic theme software doesn't have any options for UMA yet. I'm sure they will in the next release.

Well I finally made an animated gif with transparent background that didn't get all grainy on me. It's not the original one as the circular nature of it proved too difficult to make a clean transparent background. But I think the new one looks just as good.

Edit... guess I should mention that you can download the update and that there's a screen shot of the changes.

The 8100 version is coming soon. I plan to release the 8100 and 8800 versions at the same time. I just haven't had the time to sit down and do it this week. Hopefully this weekend.

Default questions / suggestions.

Love this theme - it is now my favorite. I have just two observations/suggestions/questions....

1) When viewing the calendar... the hi-lighted day of week on the upper right corner [S|M|T|W|F|S] is hardly visible - a higher contrast hi-light would improve visibility

2) On my 8310 the default UP icon on custom created folders is a open box type thing - is it possible to change this or could this be made to resemble an up arrow or something more appropriate?

Thanks!!!
Jeff

Glad to hear this theme is a current fav!

I'm so with you on item 1. I tried changing every cursor option in Plazmic when I first made my themes but none of them seemed to do anything to the active day in the title bar of the calendar. Plazmic just doesn't seem to give me the ability to change it. Someone enlighten me if I'm missing something here....

I made the box icons just to do something different than folders. If you look at the up box it actually has an up arrow on the side of it. But I guess that's not real visible after resizing it down to fit on a blackberry.

When I put out this theme for other phones I'll update the Curve version as well and change it to an up arrow... or do something to make the up aspect more distinguishable.

When I first started creating themes I just made the version I use so I didn't make an icon version. And no one has requested the icon version yet so I didn't ever make it.... It won't take much to put one together though. I'll have one up soon.
