Default What do I do?

Hey guys,

So I just got my 9700 about a week or so ago and noticed a couple things that seems like glitches. When I receive a SMS ans read it, sometimes the red indicator doesnt go away. Also, Sometimes a message and press send and it appears blank in the chat convo until I go out of sms folder and back in again. Lastly, when I take the battery out and restart the phone when it loads up its in like a glitch mode where nothing pops up until I press menu button(this one is super weird). So should I just reinstall the latest OS(I think thats what tech support will tell me to do), or would that be deemed defective and could I get a replacement?
I just dont want to temporarily mask the issue and somewhere down the line it reappears..
Thanks in advance guys.

Sounds like an OS issue. I would suggest updating to the latest version: 5.0.0.545 released by Vodafone UK. Check the top of this forum for the official releases and instructions!

Ok sounds good. Im running OS 5..0.351 with Rogers. Does it matter if I download that UK one or should I find the latest one for Rogers. Actually I should just look at this post you reffered me to.
Thanks!

I'd go with the very latest as it'll have the latest bug fixes, etc. Be SURE to follow the directions that are posted and delete the Vendor.xml file on your computer before installing to your phone.

I do agree with Raptor, and hopefully that corrects your issue. However, I also want to mention that it is a new device, and if it is giving you issues from the start, you may want to consider returning it.

I do feel that most of issues will be resolved with the OS update.
