Default Blackberry vs iPhone vs Android vs Nokia? Who will win and why?

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

I am helping out a graduate student who is completing her program and she needs to conduct a short survey as part of her program. This survey is part of a research to look at the phenomenon of mobile content evolution in the global space. Would you mind taking this short survey which shouldn't take more than 5 minutes? If you are interested in the details of her study and would like to receive her study results, you can leave your email address at the end of the survey. She will be happy to send her paper as soon as it is done. Thank you for your interest and time.

Survey for application development sector

Survey for device engineering sector

Thank you very much. We believe responses from you will help us develop a mobile content evolution model. We will discuss further on this topic as we find out from the survey results. Again, thank you for your interest and time.

In terms of revenue though... Nokia will eventually win because of their marketshare. That means innovation vs. marketing might be a better way to predict??

Nokia's market are mostly in Asia, or europe. There isn't many peoples who are buying expensive nokia phone in the north America. Nokia makes great phone, but who is willing to spend 500-600 dollars buying a N95 or N97?

That's what many people said about Motorola five years ago.

WinMo, Apple, and RIM all have solid customer bases. The market is huge enough for all of them to thrive. Android and Palm's new WebOS are wildcards because they're both relatively new and need to build customer bases.

As a manufacturer, Nokia is incredibly strong. There's talk that Nokia might be looking into dropping Symbian in favor of Mameo, their computer OS, but that's still speculation and would be years away if it happens at all.

Apple has shown that blending form and function together is a recipe for success. The other key - maybe the biggest key - is having a robust applications catalogue. Even if the catalogue is 80% fluff, folks like choices and it sells handsets. Android and Palm would do well to take notice of this. Don't compete with Apple, emulate them.
