Check out Email Viewer from Reqwireless http://www.reqwireless.com/emailviewer.html for TIFF images you should be able to view .pdf files if you running 3.7.1.41 on your Blackberry I can? I'm sure all the above will be a none issue when HH OS 4.0 is released.

Do i need something special setup on my blackberry or the BES server to view pdfs? For some reason my company hasn't turned attachments on. They are using this weird metamesage program.

BlackBerry has a BlackBerry Attachment Service; however, it may not have been installed on your Application Loader if you technician installed Onset Technology METAmessage Basic, which has an attachment service. You should be able to send a "Read" request to read@[hostname.com] which will ask the METAmessage Conversion Server (MCS) to download and convert the attachment into a readable format on your BlackBerry.

You should see "Read", "Print (Fax Machine)" and "Print (Network Printer)" options; but you're only able to use these functions if the server tech has placed you in the authorized users distribution list that the MCS "peers into".

METAmessage claims to allow you to read over 150 attachment types, includling .bmp, .csv, .dcx, .doc, .gif, .htm, .ics, .jpg, .pcx, .pdf, .pps, .ppt, .rtf, .tif, .txt, .url, URL path, .vcf, .wk1, .wk3, .wk4, .wks, .wmf, .wpd, .xls and .zip

Try Dochawk from Terratial. I was a beta tester and my school's PDF files were cranking on both of my BB's: 7230 and 7100t. They really looked good. TIFF faxes were good too, because I could scroll through the images like the way I read. I think their beta is over so perhaps you could get it now. Not sure.

I tried to buy it but I couldn't because I have a 7250 (CDMA) It will only sell to GSM/GPRS users. An emei number rather than an ESN number is required!

Per suggestion above, I checked out OnSet's METAmessage app for PDF and TIF viewing. I signed up for a 30 day free trial of METAmessage using the offercode "4546" that one of my collegues sent me. This is great! Try it out!! I am using a 7280, my collegues are using it on the 7100t, 7250 and 7520.

META has new features that are included with the software, this is what their site says (http://www.metamessage.com):

-Spell-check outgoing email messages;
-Print messages, attachments, and Web pages using any fax machine;
-Set Message Alerts for custom notifications of important messages;
-Listen to Nextel NextMail™ and other voicemail attachments (.mp3, .wav, .lvp);
-Ask Concierge Services virtually any question you may have
-Read attachments with original formatting intact; and,
-Get quick info* such as driving directions, flight information, stocks, weather, and more...

I hear they have an OTA install for 4.0 devices, but I have not tried it.
-Bert

BeamBerry is no longer free as of Dec. 31st, there's a new thread here on BBF regarding the changes and stuff. $50/year now.

this thread dates back to 2004 lol. as for free alternatives, OS 4.2 allows you to open both with no issues.
