Default Http Bad Error Request 400

Please Login to Remove!

I've been getting the http bad error request 400. When I click on details, it says socket exception:connection request. This happens when I click on any links sent to me in my email, links set up previously by me in my BlackBerry bookmark folder. I haven't been able to access any websites from my internet or BlackBerry browser in a day because I get getting that error. The only sites thatve been working were the ones preloaded in the bookmarks-CNN, Accuweather, ESPN.

I'm on BES 4.1 and using a BB 8700g.

I just started having these issues recently. Yet, when I called for support no one seemed to know anything about this particular error.

Has anyone else had this error? Or have anysuggestions on how to correct it?

Wirelessly posted (7105t: BlackBerry8700/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

I've talked to two other people using the 8700g on T-Mobile who say that they are receiving the same type of error as well and they're using bes. Anyone else using the 8700g on T-Mobile and bes having this issue as well? If so, how did you rectify the problem?

I am and have, seen this error since day 1 on my 8700g.

Almost all pages return this error for me

I am on T-mobile, NOT on BES, and I've tried all emulation modes and the error still occurs.

Wow! This just started happening to me last week. I've never had that error on any of the other BB devices that I've owned and I've been using BlackBerry for 5 years. It's funny how the pda support people made it seem as if I was the only one with this error. The tech said he had never heard of this error. Maybe there's an 8705g the works to fix this issue. Who knows? That would be the same way it was with 7100t to 7105t.

I've downloaded the mini opera browser to use as well, so when my BB browser won't work. I'll use the mini Opera browser.

Have your IT department restart the Mobile Data Service service on the BES. I had this earlier last week and that was my fix. It will not affect the Internet Browser but it will rectify the Blackberry Browser issue.

I'll try that because there's others at work with the same issue and had it long before me. The IT department told me that their concern was that the email worked and that was it. Yet, I'll ask them to try that.

I have been getting the 401 and 400 errors since day one. For me, certain 3rd party applications like bbtoday, which update automatically via the internet, would cause me to get the error after the apps updated and I tried to use the wap browser. Doing a reset fixed the problem until the next time the apps updated. My solution was to remove all third party apps that updates and move all bookmarks to the blackberry browser which does not give me as many errors. I have an 8700g and am on Dobson Cellular One BIS.

I only have one app that's updating automatically and that's pico news. Yet, I didn't start having this issue until I was set up bes. I never had this issue in the last year using it on my 7105t using bis only. I'm gonna remove the pico news to see if that helps it any.

Did anyone find an official solution to this problem?

We've experienced this problem since upgrading to version 4.1 on handhelds. BB Browser still works on 4.0. The problem seems to be carrier specific for us, too. A handfull of our users use other carriers and none of them have the problem.

I wiped my handheld and then was synced ota with bes 4.1.9. I haven't had any error issues since syncing ota with bes 4.1.9. I had originally synced with the bes desktop version 4.1. I'm thinking that I just didn't have the latest version of bes, but I'm not sure. I haven't had any issue since syncing with the bes 4.1.9. Ensure that you're using the latest version of bes. The it dept mentioned that the 8700 series seems to work better on bes when it is synced ota. I'm not really sure why there would be a difference as long as you're using the latest version. I hope that this helps you.

Tried that several times. No luck. It does appear to be version specific on our 7250 BlackBerrys.

Any other ideas?

I'm using the 8700g and have been told that the issue was device specific as well. I've bee using BB devices for 5 years and this is the first time that I've had that issue with my BlackBerry.
