Default RIM Helped me Fix my DST Failure

Please Login to Remove!

Basically they had me do a full backup of my 8800. After it was backed up I was told to go to security settings and wipe my BB. After it was wiped and re-booted, I was instructed to go to backup and choose "advance." After the databases populated I selected everything on the left side HOWEVER I deselected the "time zones" entry on the left side and clicked the big arrow pointing to the left which sent everything to the right side of the window and then I clicked restore. Voila

When my BB recycled, it had the correct time and date I tested it by basically setting the time to 1:59AM on March 11 and after a minute it went from 1:59AM to 3:00AM. If you're on BES (as I am) I had to do the activation again with my IT group. But all is well. Hopes this helps and works for others who had this problem.

***See info update below on 3/13 @2:13PM***

I tried this but do not have any "timezone" entry on the left hand side. I have a 7105t, however.

rel12561's solutions seems to work. We wiped, restored and re-activated an 8800 that was having time issues after DST, and it now displays the correct time. Whoever is saying that the 8800's did not need a patch for DST is wrong. The 8800's that we did patch, just for the heck of it, are fine. Ones without the patch had issues. The OS level apparently was not DST compliant after all.

IT worked for me as well and then when I re-registered on the BES it went haywire again. So I did the same steps and RIM sent the following note to me:

Thank you for contacting BlackBerry.

In response to your question regarding your handheld showing incorrect time and appointments, if you have been added to a BlackBerry Enterprise Server, this issue would need to be addressed by the BlackBerry Enterprise Server Administrator.

Steps that would need to be taken:

- User would need to be removed from the BlackBerry Enterprise Server
- Users' information needs to be deleted from the BlackBerry Enterprise Server
- A security wipe needs to be performed on the handheld
- User readded and Enterprise Activated

Please forward this information to your BlackBerry Enterprise Server Administrator.

We did this this morning and so far so good. By the way, I'm using the 8800 and RIM indicated it does not need the patch as it's internal to the OS. What might be happening is if you've upgraded devices that could be gunking up works which is why users need to be totally removed as a oppsed to resetting the password and having them reactivate, which is what I did yesterday and the problem re-appeared.

Default Did this fix your meeting problems?

Did this fix your calendar issues? Currently if i receive a new meeting it's correct in outlook and an hour old on the blackberry pearl.

If I create a new meeting/appointment on the blackberry it's two hours ahead in outlook and correct on the blackberry. This is true if send it to someone else also.

help? This is soooo frustrating.

Thanks
Jana

All those issues were corrected for me with the fix above. make sure the patch was applied to your handheld. The Pearl requires the patch.

Yes, everything restored, I had to re-enter codes for 3rd party software and re-activate on the BES server and yes, my calendar issues seem to have been repaired as well.
