If a theme (which is created for the BlackBerry 7200 Series with BlackBerry Device Software 4.1) contains a custom idle screen that attempts to display on the device, you receive the following error:

java.lang.NullPointerException

In order to avoid this error, do not include an idle screen with the custom theme.

How do I not include an idle screen?

I was having the same error with the themes a make in Plazmic. Once I upgraded to the newer version for OS 4.1 the error was fixed.

I currently have a 7290 with TMO 4.1.0.309 and it seems to work fine for
any themes

I have a 7290 on tmobile and have upgraded to the latest handheld software. Can I add themes to my phone?

there are a lot of theme in this thread start your seach on the last page and work backward. some the earlies themes are no longer available at the original links, but if you want one that the link does not work just ask someone will relist it.

You can use only themes that were designed for the 7200 or 7500 series with your phone

Just to double check are you tring to make a theme with Plazmic?

to change the idle screen in Theme Builder you click on the last icon (the blackberry icon below the phone) This only works for the 7200 and 7500 series
