If you have dropped the device hard or gotten it wet, you are probably SOL (that is, device hardware is broken).

If you have a microSD card installed, remove it and try again.

If the problem isn't the card, see if you can boot in safe mode. (Search on booting in safe mode.)

If you can boot in safe mode, do a full backup before you do anything else. Then delete the last few apps you installed. Remove the battery for 30 seconds and then try again. If the device does boot up, I would do a clean install of the OS just to be on the safe side.

If you can't boot in safe mode, you have no choice but to try a reload the OS. There are instructions on the forum for installing any carrier's OS. See the latest OS thread for your model.

You may have trouble connecting to the device, and you may need to wipe it first. Search and find either JL_CMDER or BBSAK. You will use one of these to wipe the device. If successful, you will end up with a 507 error, and then you can install the OS.

I believe the FAQ site here may still be down. Try it and see, and find the article on using JL_CMDER and what to do if you can't connect to the BlackBerry. If the FAQ is down, look over on crackberry.com or the RIM support forums site and find the instructions on what to do when you can't connect.

Good luck.
