does anyone know how to disable the feature that the phone will automatically put a 1 in front of the number when it is dialed from the address book?

eg, if i have the number (555)555-5555 in my address book, it will dial 15555555555 when i dial from the adress book

i dont want the 1 - any ideas?

I don't think there is a way to do this.

I'm curious though, why would you want to?

well u see, that way i am aware that i am dialing a long distance call if the prompt comes up telling me to dial 1. Instead of making long disstance calls unaware that they are long distance and having to pay the bill surprised

under call log - options - smart dialing - Use "1" for National Dialing - change that to No.
that should do the trick.
