My brother works for at&t, so I asked him to give me the dirt on the 8820. According to his superiors, it's due out sometime in October, and get THIS: Using wi-fi will NOT require a data plan! I know this sounds too good to be true, but that's what he's being told.

As for the Pearl 2, there's not even an estimated release date, so don't hold your breath.

Joehash, welcome to the Forums. Correct, WiFi use will not require a data plan, but push email will require a Data Plan, as well as data and internet anywhere other than a WiFi hotspot.

Lots of discussion on this around here. Thanks for your insight.

Default Just Ordered Mine!

I could not find locally in Chicago market so just ordered a new AT&T 8820 online. With a discount and overnight shipping the total was $404.00

You can bet I'll be camped out at the mailbox!
