Default Carriers Operating the 8320 in Ontario Canada

Please Login to Remove!

I'm planning to move up and live in Ontario Canada for next 6 months. It'd be great if I could just unlock my TMo 8320 and get a local number from one of the carriers in Ontario and keep using my own device. My problem is I don't know which carrier I must sign up with to be able to use my 8320.

Any help is appreciated.

Correct me if I'm wrong, guys. But doesn't Rogers only offer services for the 8310? Or is carrier service not device specific at all?

Thanks

An 8320 will run well on any carrier that has 83xx devices. 8310s run fine on T-Mobile; the 8320 will run properly on Rogers.

I know you know this already, but I don't want someone else to get confused. Not all 83xx devices are the same. The 8330 will not run on the same network as the 8300, 8310, and 8320.

Rogers was already suggested. Koloftoo made the post that I was referring to. You are correct. CDMA devices don't work on GSM networks. But an 8320 will run on Rogers.

Hey guys, just wanted to say thanks for you input! Seems like Rogers is about my only choice in Ontario. Any ideas as far as pricing for voice and unlimited data? In California I get 3000 CA & NV anytime minutes for $49.99 + $19.99 for unlimited data. The plan is not actively pitched and many don't know about it. I was wondering if there were any such similar hidden plans in Rogers inventory that you guys might know about.

Thanks

You'd have to check the website for Rogers Wireless. I do not think that there is an unlimited data plan for Rogers - this is something discussed quite often if you search for it. Do not expect to be paying as cheap of prices as with T-Mobile, though.

Wow! No unlimited data? And here I was hoping to lean on my reliable BB more than ever because of my uncertain living situation up in Toronto.

I guess I'm starting to get a glimpse of the dark heart of Rogers Communications!
