Default OS: 9930 7.0.0.1296/7.0.0.241 (Multilanguage)

This can be loaded to any model 9930 by following the instructions below.

Software For BlackBerry® Bold™ 9930 smartphone
BlackBerry Handheld Software v7.0.0.1296 (Multilanguage)
(Sprint also has an ALL Languages version available at the download below)

Package Version: 7.0.0.1296
Consisting of:
  • Applications: 7.0.0.241
  • Software Platform: 5.0.0.442
  • File name: 9930AMEA_PBr7.0.0_rel1296_PL5.0.0.442_A7.0.0.241_S print_L.P.exe
  • File size: 187.92MB
Note: The Software Platform and Applications version numbers can be found under Options-About screen on the handheld.
Download the OS file here: https://swdownloads.blackberry.com/D...BB765225CE8C0E

Instructions for installing on the 9930:
1. Download the above OS file to the PC then install it to the PC by running (double clicking) the file you downloaded.
2. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml." Vista/Win7 users: In the apploader folder, simply click on "Compatibility files" to see the actual Vendor.xml file. Once you've got that - simply delete the vendor.xml file there (even if you've deleted or think you've deleted it in the folder previously) and voila, it will allow you to update to the newly installed OS!
3. Plug in BB and double click on "Loader.exe." It's located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

The process may take up to 45 minutes to an hour depending on how much data you have to backup and restore during the process. Once it's done loading the new OS it will reboot (it may do this twice during the entire process.) You will see a black "BlackBerry" screen with a status bar for up to 20 minutes at a time while the DM says "waiting for initialization."
If, for some reason, you end up with a white screen with small icons and the number 507, simply connect to the PC again and run Loader.exe again, and it should load the OS to the device.

Hi I tried to upgrade the device software downloaded as the address mentioned above, but after I press the apploader, there is no choices of options I could choose to install or remove from the device. It is only showed the 3rd party software that I have been installed OTA before.

As per instruction to upgrade the software, using windows 7, I have to delete vendor.xml, this has been done but not by pressing the compatibility files button. Is it the reason why I could not have options showed up after the apploader is loaded? How to find the compatibility files button on the apploader folder, since this is not showed up on my screen? I never have to delete the vendor.xml file using compatibility files button when I upgrade my previous device 9780.

I need help to solve it please. Thanks

Ever since the new Blackberry Desktop software update, there's another vendor.xml file you have to delete. I only know where the file is in Windows XP, not sure about where it is in Win 7. For XP users, delete the vendor.xml in

C:\Documents and Settings\"user name"\Application Data\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML

took me a looooooooooooooong time to find the little sucker.
