Default Wayfinder POI update for the US

Please Login to Remove!

I have updated my GPS page with this info. Here is what I have learned.

The WF POI database for North America has this month been updated with POI data from InfoUSA's service through TeleAtlas. There are 15 million POIs/Company listings in the USA and a further 2 Million in Canada. This represents a major improvement in Wayfinder for the North American market.

I will give it a try.

I do have some issues with Telenav and WF not liking each other. TN seems to change my BT puck settings so I can't always switch back to WF without going through some gymnastics. So it may be a bit before I do.

You already know how I feel about Wayfinder but if you say that their POI has updated then Ixxx8217;ll give it a try again.

Yes I do Just for testing purposes, can you find your local Starbucks?

I FOUND ALL OF THEM NEAR ME - UNLIKE IN THE PAST

I think the 4.7 Telenav interface is great, much better than 4.4. So to me WF was ahead of 4.4 but behind 4.7, regardless of POI's. Now what TN really needs is a shortcut to switch between the views in 4.7.

More info - When I entered Starbucks in business find it did not come up with any. I had to use Close 2 You.

That's pretty cool. Here's an update with my Telenav experience. I chose the shortest route the other day to get to my destination and halfway there, I came up on road construction that had the road closed. Yes I was upset....I had to re-route and ended up losing 4 miles. I still saved mileage though. : )

From the link on my page on how this data is obtained, sometimes its just manually. Interesting.
