Default Best config for a laptop user and Verizon's Web Client

Please Login to Remove!

We have over 20 users who get their email from our BES connected to Lotus Domino. I have a consultant who wants a BB 7750 from Verizon, but doesn't want to synch with Domino (technically, he isn't an employee, so he doesn't have a Domino account), rather, he wants to synch with his home email account through Comcast. The problem is that his main machine is a laptop that he carries around with him. That's the machine that he wants to synch Outlook with, however, as I understand it, in order to use the Web Client, a program needs to be installed on a machine that's always connected to the Internet in order to push messages to the BB.

Does this mean I have to install the Web Client piece on one machine (I'll call it machine 1), but the Desktop Manager on a second machine (machine 2). Will this configuratoin allow him to get his email and also synch his PIM? Is there a better config?

You can just use the Blackberry Web Client. You don't need to install anything...just enter all his pop information from Comcast into the BWC and you are all set.

Search around on the forum for BWC for more information.
