Default 8530 GPS Usage

So, I have figured out how to use the GPS with Poynt and WeatherBug. I have to go into BBMaps, start GPS tracking and then shutdown BBMaps by pressing the end call button. Only then will the GPS work with the other apps. If I reboot, I have to restart the process. Has anyone else figured out an easier way of having their 3rd party apps use the GPS without having to jump through a hoop?

I don't have to start BBM in order for Poynt to work. I just make sure that Location and Geolocation services are on in the phone's GPS menu before starting Poynt and it works just fine.
