HTML Email and 4.5.0.52
Please Login to Remove!
Does 4.5.0.52 for the 8320 include HTML email? It appears to, but the reason I ask is that prior to the latest upgrade I had BBSmart installed as a timed-out demo, it's still there in email options but doesn't show in the apps list so I can't very well delete it. Very strange.

No, 4.5.0.52 in and of itself does not include HTML email. You must have the BIS 2.5 service books on your device, as well.

Checked with t-mobile, by coincidence they did recently upgrade to BIS 2.5, which brings html email to 4.5 beta users. Not as nice as with BBSmart or empower, many html tags still show as such. But then again it doesn't cost $20/$30 either.

I actually dont have problems with HTML tags showing, and think the rendering is better than the above mentioned apps. To each his/her own however.

I have been very happy with the HTML email on 4.5 and BIS 2.5! I have been very impressed with the rendering.

The html under 4.5 is way better than BBsmart or that other one gave. That was due to what the BB servers let through so it may have changed, but I'd never pay for one of those now. They caused a ton of errors when I tried them so I never got more than a day in before I deleted them, although I demo'd them more than once.
Actually, even the "get plain text" version of messages is way more readable than before. I'd use that if I didn't have unlimited data.

Yup - T-Mobile upgraded their servers a couple of weeks ago (don't recall the date). HTML email is very nice now. I uninstalled Empower as soon as I had .52 on and verified that T-Mobile had the new server upgrade in place. In general it's working quite well, is fast and looks good. The only annoyance is the security measure that ignores my preference to "download images automatically" -- I still have to explicitly answer the "do you want to" prompt after explicitly request to "download images". Hoping that will be a true option down the road, so I won't have to answer the question every time.

Troy - Thank you. I had it enabled but did not realize it only works on messages sent after the upgrade. I should have known. =)
Vinmont - mine auto downloaded the images for me. I'm using the latest beta thou 75/52.

After you allow images the first time from a particlar email, they are automatically downloaded every time after that.
