any ideas?

Great job thus far!
When you hit save, we are pinging the sip server with a bad account name. The point is to make it to get a response so we know it is a sip server.

If you have downloading problem, do the following.

Place the pointer on the icon and do a 'Get Link".

everything still shows 0.5 not 0.51 and I am still not able to resolve the IP. I must assume that version 5.0 still remains in my BB. Can anyone confirm that their app once loaded reflects 0.51 or does it reflect 0.5?

That is because the BB cannot reach the server. When using WIFI, make sure the WIFI is really on. That little WIFI on the upper right corner has to be BRIGHT WHITE. Another thing, what is your network topology?

I used a hard code IP address and again as said earlier, it does connect to the server using the invalid account, which again uses the wifi, and the wifi allows me to browse the net (not using BIS). its a plain tcp topology! i can ping the server ip address from the BB wireless setup screen.

Is it an Asterisk server or other? Is there a way you can find out what the SIP is set to in that server? BlackVoib uses default 5060.

Asterisk Server, binding port in the sip.conf is standard 5060

it connects perfectly for the dummy test account on saving settings, so i take it, that 5060 is fine!

Hmm. At this stage, I would run wireshark to check the traffic. Before doing, give BlackVoib all the application permission, not that it has anything to do with it, but just to make sure.

Default Blackvoib on BB9000

Hi,
I have a blackberry 9000 and i installed the software yesterday. I am also using an asterisk serveying at home and trying to connect to it but without success. This is how my settings are entered :

displayname : 2222
username : 222atxxx.xxx.xxx.xxx where xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx is the ip of my pbx
password : 1234 that is hust an example
domain xx.xxx.xxx.xxx same ip address put at upper
register with domain is checked
outbound proxy is also set to the ip of my asterisk pbx
APN is also set to the ip of the PBX
stun server also have the ip of the pbx server

Now when it tries to register it can't. When i follow the attempt on my asterisk server, i can see that the username it sends to the server is the password +1 i.e username: 11234 . I am sure it can work but maybe i have missconfigured something there. Can you please help?

No.

The user name should just be 222.
I assume the * server is in the same subnet as you BB device using WIFI. STUN server should be left blank. Outbound proxy should be blank as it is the same as the domain. You should be good to go.

Thats what i get when i start the application, then it dies! no more comms and phone just says start network fail

To add the IP address for the server is 194.168.2.xxx not 192.168.0.1

My pbx uses a routable ip address so i am using the internet on the phone to register. I already tried 222 without the @xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx but it did not work either. So should i leave the STUN server blank anyway?

As i told u when lookating at the * server debug info i see a username that has nothing to see with the one i am trying to register.

What do you mean routable ip address? Do you mean your pbx has a public ip address?
