Default Back up and restore issue for Groups in Address book on 8830

Please Login to Remove!

My VZ 8830 recently stopped charging so I backed it up locally using BB Desktop software version 5.0.1. The VZ store gave me a new one and I thought I was good to go. Restored the back up copy to my new 8830 and noticed a major problem...several of my groups within the address book did not restore correctly (to the best of my knowledge, groups do not back up on wireless synch). RIM said this was probably due to the back up copy being "corrupt." Since then, I have done another new back up and restored to another different 8830 (bought used on eBay) and the same problem occurs. Not all groups are affected but I do notice that some lack contacts, etc. I really like the group option in the address book and would love to get this figured out.

Any suggestions/thoughts would be truly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

You could easily search for this, but there is NO group sync...see here:

My older blackberry use to allow you to back up groups and restore them, I assume that is must be something new with the new models, OS or desktop software. It just doesnt make sense because contact groups are important to many BB users!
