Are you able to download books? If I recall, the VZW issue wasn't tied to just BES. The BES is its own can of worms. I am on one, but am also the admin Makes it a little easier to troubleshoot.
I can download book parts just fine. I just don't see the WSJ subscription in the My Subscriptions area of My Library, even today after a new "episode." So maybe there is a subscription limitation with Verizon regardless of BIS or BES.

Where do I "volunteer" for the beta? Got a bold, using the current audibleair client...doesn't work well. Would love to try the beta...
As far as I know, audible is not taking volunteers at this time. Their initial beta test group was picked based on past participation. I can not say for sure, but I believe it will be opened up further after the new client is up to par with the previous client. Right now, I can not use it as my primary player. It has a lot of potential though...

I believe that is merely that subscriptions are not yet properly implemented in the client. If you can download books, then it appears they have resolved the VZW issue. I would like to see a larger VZW sampling though...
The QA version of the next release (no date yet) has next/prev buttons at the bottom of the list. This is probably a temp fix to the temp fix, but at least you can get to your full library. It might change before release, but at least they are thinking along the same lines or at least listening.
...It also appears to have been better optimized for the pearl from a data entry and appearance standpoint.
Looks like they are also working on the offline thing. It is too early to give firm details, but it looks like we will have a "local audiobooks" pick off of the menu and the main screen will be cached so that it doesn't poll the server for it when you launch. I'm still hoping for a big "resume book" button... I'll try to post images when the dev environment stabilizes. Hopefully first of the week.
I've made the following suggestion to the team myself, but if you like the idea, perhaps you could ask for it too.
A sleep timer: I'm chronically sleep deprived, yet still feel like trying to listen to a bit of a book at bed time. Unfortunately, I'll fall asleep and the player will go on indefinitely until my sleep lightens after about 90 minutes or so. I currently have a script that'll stop playback in itunes after 15 minutes on the tablet PC that's by my bed. That way I only have to go back at most a few minutes if I fall asleep too quickly.
I am continuing to post the latest version information above. Some of the versions will not be available for testing. However, I feel it is good to list them so that we can see the evolution of the product.
Got confimation. New beta will drop this week. Same location. While it is being prepared, the client and server will be out of sync. Expect oddities...
Audible gave me the go ahead to post a link. The beta is now a public beta. Please make sure that if you download the software that you use the survey link above as well. Let's give them as much quality feedback as possible.
