I have a new 8310 Curve that came set with the security timeout set to 15 minutes. That is the maximum time option available. My daughters Backberry can be set to much higher times. I have seen reference in other threads on this forum to something equivalent to the Windows "registry" that is accessible through the Desktop Manager. Is it possible to go in that way and increase the security timeout on my 8310? Thanks.

Is your BB on BES? Is so, you may not be able to change the timeout.

On my personal Curve 8310, I have options to change the timeout in various increments ranging from 1 min to 1 hour. (I set it at 5 min.) On my work 8830 which is on BES, it is set at 20 minutes and cannot be changed. (I think 20 min is too long -- I would be happier with 5 min like on my personal one.) On the work BB, there is a red * next to the timeout setting. I think the * is to tell me I can't change it. (It's also on the Password Enabled option as well.)
