I feeli like the SMS editor has been updated in this one. Previously using 348 I think and using alt-backspace to do a forward delete used to erase the whole message...which was pretty frustrating. Now it does a forward delete, which is nice. Not sure about any other differences...but this one feature was the one that was killing me occasionally.

thx raptor 464.

i have one more question. i have a t-mobile 8900. now with the SMS bug which is annoying me a little i am thinking of totally wiping my bb and install 411 again.

1. can i wipe it so the tmobile ZEN is not there anymore? because i cant delete it....
if that works can somebody tell me how please
2. i cant get appwolrd running. i installed it as they wrote here in the forum (im outside USA in a restricted area) the installation seemed to be ok, reboot, but then however no APPworld icon anywhere -> software was installed (said bb application center)
does anybody else have that problem?
3. shell i wait till a debugged os from is coming out?

YM and BB messenger doesn't work without data plan. I used to think they did, but it doesn't. To try it, just turn off Data Services and you'll see messengers don't work. ;)

I'm having some trouble connecting to WiFi at home.

From your main "Messages" list: Menu > Options > Inbox Settings. Check the box next to each account (including SMS and MMS) you wish to view in the main Messages list, then save.

First: Thanks VERY MUCH for the incredibly easy instructions on installing 5.0. This has been the best site for info so far.

I'm really torn on whether to keep 5.0. I have 8900 on AT&T w/data plan +BES.
Pros:
- Browser is faster, supports Youtube, Gears
- SMS is like BB Messenger
- Better graphics overall
- Really like the startup screen. It seems to boot faster (but this could be because I have visual confirmation now), and seems to be faster overall, too.

Cons
- There are still unexplained freezes now and then. Could be due to the 8900's processor.
- Had to hack it to get the browser
- Live Messenger won't work. Keeps saying I have no data connection. It has full permissions. BB App store keeps giving error messages, too, but this might not be because of 5.0.
- The setup app froze on me on three consecutive resets. I'd switch to it, and the screen wouldn't change. It kept coming back until I finished it, too.
- Little things aren't working that worked fine before. Mostly with the data connection. I think this is because my service books aren't right. But I've tried refreshing them several times with no real luck.

It'd be nice if AT&T released the branded version soon. Then I can just remove their crap apps, and the rest will work as intended

I don't know if anyone else has experienced this bug...
here's how it goes.

When i receive a sms from let's say person #1, everything is good up to this point,
then every sms i receive from anyone shows as if person #1 sent it...
then when i delete all my sms's and get a sms from let's say person #2 it happens again, every sms i get shows as if that person #2 sent it...

Any way to fix this bug?

Installed on two T-Mo 8900s and everything seems to be going OK.

I had the SMS issue as well, and wasn't able to fix it by replacing the sms_composer file.
