They could be blocking application installs at the BES level....

I wonder if they will have a desktop client? (NOT desktop manager install). The BB client works fine for me but I'd rather browse on a PC.

I do realize I'd have to install/pay from the BB client but would rather decide on what apps to get from a PC.

We allow full Internet browsing and all 3rd party downloads (I'm one of the BES admins). Our IT Policy is fairly open which is why I suspect the issue isn't on our end.

I dont think it is a BES problem. I have downloaded many 3rd party apps before.

I have just been on the phone to Vodafone UK and all they could say was that they are in discussion with RIM about resolving the problem.

One of our other BES Admins got this working on his Sprint Curve, although we're still getting the 'check your network connection' error on 8830, Bold, and Storm.

The Curve is on a test BES so I'm currently switching to our test BES to see if a different IT Policy fixes our issue. I'll let you know...

Great, thanks. Hopefully they will release a version that can work off the BIS. If this is an IT policy situation my company is not real open to changing things on the BES.

Works fine for me, disappointed that Facebook is still not updated (had my fingers crossed). Wish there was a "sort by price" option for the product categories!

App World installed just fine on my 8100.

For some reason I can't connect to the service though.
After the loading screen I keep getting "Tunnel timed out" or Tunnel failed".
I've tried soft reseting the phone and pulling the battery with the same error messages.
Anyone else run into this?

Well I'm at a loss. I setup my Bold on our test BES and am running the same specs as another BES admin (same group, software config, and IT policy).

He can access App World just fine, but now I'm getting a "Failed to transmit" error.

help! just installed this and a viigo. then when i rebooted it does a couple things:

1. gets stuck on my "Rogers" logo screen. i can get out of this if i turn the power off then back on.

2. a couple of icons have disappeared, mainly my MESSAGES icon! i can't even get to it using the "M" shortcut anymore. WTF? other things like BB messenger also disappeared.

Been working great here too. Only problem is I mysteriously got a myspace icon on my phone after I downloaded AppWorld.
